Opposites Attract

It's interesting how a cold snap here in New Orleans seems to make the magnolia trees really pop. There are blasts of purple all over the city, certainly the precursor to the verdant leaves to come. I have had in my possession for a long time a peach tourmaline that is very unusual indeed. Finding a juxtaposition for it has been no easy task. But this morning, I think because of all of this juxtaposition in nature, I've settled on using horse hair. Horse hair that is very white. Harder to do, but I think it gives a perfect organic foil to this faceted stone. Something it has needed for a long time. I am riding in a Mardi Gras parade on Friday with great friends and hope that a bit of champagne and the colors in the crowd inspire something fresh. -Nicholas
